Japanese Corporation Sharp, known as environmentally conscious company has recently completed building a Sharp Eco House at Green Front Sakai in Osaka, Japan. The ideas behind this project are to reduce CO2 emissions and minimize power consumption while at the same time creating a comfortable living environment.
This wooden Eco House is equipped with modern photovoltaic modules, usually called “solar batteries” and cutting-edge energy-saving appliances integrated into a network using Home Energy Management System (HEMS). This innovative system allows estimating the levels of energy consumption and energy savings by obtaining data from each device and provides information on the amount of energy generated by solar panels.
The Eco House is also equipped with LED lighting, which will be evaluated for energy-saving performance and for its ability to adjust the brightness and color of the lighting to the most comfortable levels. In addition, the energy generated by the photovoltaic modules will supply DC (direct current) power straight to DC applianceswithout conversion to AC (alternating current), while an electric vehicle (EV) traction battery will work in conjunction with the Intelligent Power Conditioner as a storage battery for the house.
Sharp Corporation hopes that the results of this test will help to put into practice new, more environmentally friendly technologies that will reduce emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere and contribute to environmental protection.
